What these systems do
Automatic voter registration: An eligible person's interaction with certain government agencies can initiate registration or an update, with opt-out details varying by state.
Permanent absentee lists: Some jurisdictions offer qualified voters recurring mailed ballots, while others mail applications each election or have all-mail systems.
Early voting: Voting before election day may take place at dedicated sites, election offices or vote centers.
Programs vary, change with law, and may have special eligibility requirements. Selection here does not check a voter's personal eligibility or register them automatically.
